Sore Winners

YES...WE...CAN!

YES...WE...CAN!

I cannot begin to explain how disgusted I get when I try to wade back into the media to at least find something to write about on this blog.  I mean, I tell myself that despite everything I know about them, I should still go over to the NY Times and see what is happening in the world.  I think after reading this article, I am finally over that.  See, now that Barack Obama has officially won the election, the Times thinks that means that it is open season to rub everyone elses nose into it.  You know, I don’t mind if the winning side gloats a little, that comes with winning, but is it too much to ask to go to one of the leading newspapers in this country and not find such juvenile drivel on the front page?  And to top the whole thing off, the author of this waste of pixels calls out the losers of the election for being gracious in defeat:

That whole anti-American, friend-to-the-terrorists thing about President-elect Barack Obama? Never mind…

Just a few weeks ago, at the height of the campaign, Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota told Chris Matthews of MSNBC that, when it came to Mr. Obama, “I’m very concerned that he may have anti-American views.”

But there she was on Wednesday, after narrowly escaping defeat because of those comments, saying she was “extremely grateful that we have an African-American who has won this year.” Ms. Bachmann, a Republican, called Mr. Obama’s victory, which included her state, “a tremendous signal we sent.”

And it was not too long ago that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, accused Mr. Obama of “palling around with terrorists.”

But she took an entirely different tone on Thursday, when she chastised reporters for asking her questions about her war with some staff members in the McCain campaign at such a heady time. “Barack Obama has been elected president,” Ms. Palin said. “Let us, let us — let him — be able to kind of savor this moment, one, and not let the pettiness of maybe internal workings of the campaign erode any of the recognition of this historic moment that we’re in. And God bless Barack Obama and his beautiful family.”

Who is this guy? He sounds like some hollywood gossip rag hack writing about how so and so’s ex reacted to the new girlfriend.  But this is front page NYT.  For somebody who is supposed to be covering the Washington beat, he sounds like he just fell off the turnip truck.  So let me spell it out for him.  A couple of weeks ago both sides were competing for the most powerful office in the world.  The Republicans lost.  Now they are graciously congratulating their former foes, just as has happened in every election for the last several hundred years.  That in itself is an incredible story.  Fights for such staggering amounts of power usually don’t end without bloodshed.  For some reason this bozo thinks that sort of behavior is deserving of derision, scorn, and the almighty snark.

But come to think about it, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at this reaction.  The Obamanation believes in nothing but itself.  Doing anything to win, however immoral, is justifiable, because they deserve to win.  When they win, it is absolutely acceptable to inflict as much damage as possible on their former opponents.  And If they lose it is TOTALLY NOT FAIR!!!!!  These are, after all, the people that promised blood in the streets, and country-wide riots if they lost arent’they?  A while back the first lady of hate in the DNC, Donna Brazile, suggested that “there will be blood” if Hillary Clinton won the primary, then loudmouth James Carville had this to say if Obama lost the general:

CARVILLE: Let me be clear, I said you can call the dogs and light the fire and leave the house. I think it sounds over.

Now let me be clear here, if Obama goes in this race with a 5- point lead and losing this election, the consequences are — bull, man. I mean I don’t think that’s going to happen, but I think David it’s a point to bring up

But you stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there.

To be fair, they weren’t actually suggesting to people that they riot.  They just know what thuggish, narcissistic, goons the obama supporters are.  They are correctly analyzing how they would react to a defeat, no matter how legitimate. In Donna’s case, however, I’m sure she would be out there with the rest of them.  She really is a vile contemptable human being…

I can take comfort in knowing that at least the candidates I supported played by the rules, and when the game was over offered their hand in congratulations to their former foes.  What a perfect time to catch them off guard and throw dirt in their faces.  Makes me proud to be an American…

Ahmanohedidn’t!

November 8, 2008

You know you’re in trouble when you think that George W Bush has better common sense in foreign policy matters than our thoroughly untested, unvetted, and uprepared President-Elect.  This seems to be the case when it comes to dealing with Iranian madman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  I think that there should be open lines of communication between the two countries, but any action by our President to legitimize this maniac is outrageous.  But Obama either thinks he can change him too, or he’s just not ready for the big leagues.

Obamahmadinejad

Obamahmadinejad

President-elect Barack Obama stepped carefully yesterday when he was asked about the unusual letter of congratulations that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent him — the first time an Iranian leader has congratulated the victor of a U.S. presidential election since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

“I will be reviewing the letter from President Ahmadinejad, and we will respond appropriately,” he said, leaving open the question about whether he will reply. President Bush chose not to respond to a rambling 18-page letter he received from Ahmadinejad in 2006, but during the campaign Obama indicated he would be willing to meet with Iranian leaders.

Maybe it is not that he isn’t ready.  Maybe Obama is just a little bit sympathetic to this guy’s point of view…

I actually think Bush got this one right, especially after reading parts of the letter.  This is a man who executes teenage boys because they are gay.  He allows goon squads to wander the street and beat women into submission.  He thinks that Israel should be wiped off the map and that the Holocaust never happened. Hmm, he hates gays, women, and jews, maybe the two of them actually have a lot in common.   I’ve been taking the gays to task a lot lately for voting for an obvious homophobe.  Now it’s the Jews turn.  I hope all of those Jewish grandparents who listened to their brain dead grandkids and voted for Obama are happy now.  Because Obama is not only a misogynist and a homophobe, he is an anti-semite.  Jesse Jackson told the world as much a month ago.  This is what Ahmadinejad had to say about Israel in his letter to Bush

I tell them to study the history of WWI and WWII. One of my students told me that during WWII, which more than tens of millions of people perished in, news about the war, was quickly disseminated by the warring parties. Each touted their victories and the most recent battlefront defeat of the other party. After the war they claimed that six million Jews had been killed. Six million people that were surely related to at least two million families.

Again let us assume that these events are true. Does that logically translate into the establishment of the state of Israel in the Middle East or support for such a state? How can this phenomenon be rationalized or explained?

Mr. President,
I am sure you know how – and at what cost – Israel was established:

  • Many thousands were killed in the process.
  • Millions of indigenous people were made refugees.
  • Hundreds of thousands of hectares of farmland, olive plantations, towns and villages were destroyed.

This tragedy is not exclusive to the time of establishment; unfortunately it has been ongoing for sixty years now.

And this is what he had to say about western civilization in general:

Liberalism and Western style democracy have not been able to help realize the ideals of humanity. Today these two concepts have failed. Those with insight can already hear the sounds of the shattering and fall of the ideology and thoughts of the Liberal democratic systems.

Are these ideas that our country wants to give any iota of legitimacy to?  Does Obama really think that common ground can be made with a man who hates jews, hates Americans, and has contributed to the killing of our troops in Iraq?   It is shocking that Mr. Obama is either so naive, or so blatantly anti-American himself that he would even consider whether to respond to a letter from this man.  What makes it even worse, is that it is a letter of congratulations.  I for one would feel better if he simply said he wasn’t looking for congratulations from a murderous dictator.  I have never supported the neocon drumbeat of declaring war on Iran, but that doesn’t mean I want my President to be this dictator’s pen-pal.  I heard that Obama was a poker player.  I guess he’s a really bad one (although I’m sure he surrounds himself with toadies that always let him win), because if this is his poker face in dealing with one of the most dangerous men in the world, every two bit despot is now going to be calling his bluff.

John Aravosis: Denying people rights is only OK when I advocate it.

self-righteous asshole

self-righteous asshole

“At a fundamental level, the Utah Mormons crossed the line on this one,” said gay rights activist John Aravosis, an influential blogger in Washington, D.C.

“They just took marriage away from 20,000 couples and made their children bastards,” he said. “You don’t do that and get away with it.”

Hey John, how about pulling your head out of your own ass long enough to wake up and smell the coffee.  Don’t cry about the Mormons taking away gay people’s rights.  You did this to yourself.  No, actually you did it to the rest of us too.  Why should anybody give a damn about you anyway?  Maybe we should ask those in the transgendered community that you stabbed in the back when you told everyone that we should throw them under the bus when it came to ENDA

I have a sense that over the past decade the trans revolution was imposed on the gay community from outside, or at least above, and thus it never stuck with a large number of gays who weren’t running national organizations, weren’t activists, or weren’t living in liberal gay enclaves like San Francisco and New York. Sure, many of the rest of us accepted de facto that transgendered people were members of the community, but only because our leaders kept telling us it was so. A lot of gays have been scratching their heads for 10 years trying to figure out what they have in common with transsexuals, or at the very least why transgendered people qualify as our siblings rather than our cousins.

John, why is it ok to say that transgendered Americans are holding us back, that they are piggybacking on our civil rights movement?  Maybe that’s the way the Mormons feel about gays wanting to get married.  Maybe that’s why African Americans don’t want to stand with us.  Maybe if you weren’t such a self-centered, preening prick you might get some of this, but I’m not going to wait around for an apology.  Bigotry is bigotry, and you’re no better than the Mormons on this one.  In fact your worse, because you are motivated by selfishness as well.  Rather than do what is right, and fight for rights for everyone, you want only the ones that apply to YOU.  You know what that makes you John?  A selfish, hypocritical, bigot.

Oh, and you’re stupid too.  Maybe if you had half a brain you would recognize that Obama wants nothing to do with the gay community.  He openly used his homophobic connections to secure the votes of other minorities.  Then he sweet-talked narcissists like you into falling down on your knees, and fellating him all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  But even that wasn’t enough.  You had to turn into the nasty little harpy that you are whenever Hillary Clinton’s name was ever even mentioned.

What a pathetic, lying, sack of shit.  If gay marriage is ever legalized, I pity the dull creature that would have to put up with you.

Oh, and can anyone tell me when the AP started using self-absorbed, narrow-minded, gasbags like this dimwit as sources?  never mind, stupid question.
