Dog and Pony Show…

January 17, 2009

The Obama campaign (and I still call it that because they’re obviously still campaigning, I guess getting a good start for ‘12) has a new video on their newly renamed change.gov website.   In it they trot out ass kissing sellouts from the gay community, like HRC’s Joe Solmonese, voicing their concerns in a “high level” meeting with members of Obama’s transition team. Typically, when it comes to gay issues, Obama himself is nowhere to be found. Take a look, its fun to watch them grovel:

While the Obama transition team looks on with boredom, the gays plead for basic human rights, such as inclusion in hate crimes and non discrimination laws, and being counted in the census.  Strinkingly, however, there is absolutely no footage of members of that team responding to, making promises about, or even acknowledging the pleas of the kool aid drunk LBGT trained monkeys, I mean leaders.   In fact, aside from a few platitudes from Podesta and the secondary footage of the Obama campaign’s resident gaybot (who seems to be caught in a feedback loop of hope and change), they don’t say anything at all.

Honestly, I believe that ENDA, and hate crimes laws, and gays being counted in the census are important, but it seems to me that several hot button issues that have been in the news lately weren’t even mentioned.  Any one want to take a guess?  None of our super smart gay community leaders brought them up.  Or if they did, it was conveniently edited out.  Of course I’m referring to gay marriage and DADT.  The latter especially should have been addressed given the fact that  much was made over Obama spokesperson Gibb’s glib one word answer, “yes”, as to if the policy would be rescinded.  Contrary to what Gibbs himself said, that is not refreshingly succinct, but maddeningly vague.  I remember having a magic eight ball when I was a kid, and the reason you can trick your young mind into believing it is magic is that simplistic answers are quite easily molded to fit just about any question.  For example, I might have asked, am I going to die?–the ball tells me “the outlook is good”.  Well, that might sound pretty off, seeing as how 30 years later I’m still here, but even if I live to be 120, well, it would be technically right.  Right?  Well I had some fun with the photoshop and whipped up a little subliminal messaging.  These LGBT clowns seem pretty susceptible to the power of suggestion, so maybe it’s worth a shot:

Meanwhile, we all better get used to the Obama trademark blue, and the Obama font (does anyone know what it is called, actually?) and the ghostly watermark-like images on everything.  The Obama campaign is now officially part of the government that you and I pay for.  I saw this ad on tv just the other day:

Notice the little logo in the corner?  You know the Ad Council?  They’re the same people that taught us that “friends don’t let friends drive drunk” and other such public service announcements.   They are a non-profit group that distributes psa’s, many of them governmental, to promote issues important to all Americans…

The Ad Council produces, distributes and promotes thousands of public service campaigns on behalf of non-profit organizations and government agencies in issue areas such as improving the quality of life for children, preventative health, education, community well being, environmental preservation and strengthening families…

And according to wikipedia:

To qualify, an issue must be non-partisan and have national relevance. The Advertising Council then assigns each campaign to a volunteer advertising agency that produces the actual advertisements. Finally, the Advertising Council distributes the finished advertisements to media outlets.

Well, if you go to the website promoted in the ad, it is obviously just a reinvention of the Obama campaign website. It has links for people to set up meetings, plan events, and so forth. You know, just like they’ve been doing for the past year.  It also immediately asks for your name and email address so they can easily add you to their marketing lists.   I certainly don’t understand how the promotion of Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign website can be considered “non partisan” or have “national relevance”.

You know, I used to look at those bumper stickers that said 1-20-09 and smile, knowing that the age of Bush was coming to an end.  The end of the Bushies, whose cronyism, and tentacles of corruption have been tainting all of the best things that government has always represented to liberals such as myself.  Now I privately despair, knowing that it is only going to continue to get worse.  When the people who brought us Smokey the Bear have been compromised, how much more is left to hold onto?
